Moonlight shadow Mike Oldfield
The last that ever she saw him Carried away by a moonlight shadow He passed on worried and warning Carried away by a moonlight shadow Lost in a river last Saturday night Far away on the other side He was caught in the middle of a desperate fight And she couldn't find how to push through
The trees that whisper in the evening Carried away by a moonlight shadow Sing a song of sorrow and grieving Carried away by a moonlight shadow All she saw was a silhouette1 of a gun Far away on the other side He was shot six times by a man on the run And she couldn't find how to push through
I stay, I pray See you in heaven far away I stay, I pray See you in heaven one day
Four a.m. in the morning Carried away by a moonlight shadow I watched your vision forming Carried away by a moonlight shadow Star was light in a silvery night Far away on the other side Will you come to talk to me this night ? But she couldn't find how to push through
Caught in the middle of a hundred and five ( 注 ) The night was heavy but the air was alive But she couldn't find how to push through

Best known for her lengthy2 collaboration3 with famed electronic composer Mike Oldfield, singer Maggie Reilly was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1956. She began her performing career during the early 1970s as a member of the local blues4 band Joe Cool; later renamed Cado Belle5, the group's self-titled debut6 LP was issued in 1976. An EP followed a year later, but Cado Belle dissolved soon after, with Reilly turning to session work before signing on with the trio Riotous7 Assembly. She met Oldfield in 1979, and a year later contributed vocals8 to his album QE2; they collaborated9 on three more projects — Five Miles Out, Crises and Discovery — before Reilly made her solo debut in 1984 with a cover of the classic "As Tears Go By." She spent the latter half of the decade focusing on raising a family, returning to music only intermittently10, including a 1989 reunion with Oldfield on his album Earth Moving; finally, in 1992 Reilly issued her debut solo LP Echoes, followed a year later by Midnight Sun.
