large-denomination certificates of deposit 大额存单

The People's Bank of China said on June 2 that it will allow the issue of large-denomination certificates of deposit to individuals and companies, a key step forward in interest rate liberalization.

6月2日，中国人们银行表示将允许发行面向个人和企业的大额存单，这是利率市场化的关键一步。

 

“大额存单”我们可以用large-denomination certificates of deposit（CD） 表示，全称是“大额可转让定期存单”（large-denomination negotiable certificates of time deposit，简写为CDs、NCD 或NCDS），就是由银行业存款类金融机构面向非金融机构投资人发行的记账式大额存款凭证。句中large-denomination表示大面额的，如大额定期存款（large-denomination time deposits）。

 

央行指出，大额存单可在二级市场（secondary market）转让，是银行存款类金融产品，属一般性存款，受到存款保险制度（deposit insurance system）的保护。大额存单发行利率以市场化方式确定，固定利率存单（fixed¹ rate certificate of deposit）采用票面年化收益率（annualized return rate）的形式计息，浮动利率存单（floating rate certificate of deposit）以上海银行间同业拆借利率（Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate，Shibor）为浮动利率基准计息。
