Chinese President Xi Jinping announced Monday China is to join the UN capability¹ readiness system, and set up a permanent peacekeeping force of 8000 troops. Xi made the remarks when addressing the annual high-level general debate of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York.

9月28日，中国主席习近平宣布中国将加入联合国维和能力待命机制，并建设8000人规模的维和待命部队，习近平主席在纽约第70届联合国大会一般性辩论上的讲话中发表了上述言论。

 

联合国大会（United Nations General Assembly）是联合国主要的审议机构（main deliberative organ），由联合国全体193个会员国共同组成。大会每年9月至12月举行一届常会（regular session），常会通常分为两个阶段，前段为“一般性辩论”（general debate）阶段，后段为大会审议列入议程的各项议题阶段。在一般性辩论中，联合国各会员国可就广泛的国际问题（international issues）发表各自看法。
