沉默之声　　　　赛门与葛芬柯二重唱 嗨！黑暗，我的老友 我又来找你聊天了 只因有个幻象缓缓的爬过 趁我熟睡时洒下种籽 这个深植在我脑海里的幻象 依然留存在沉默之声里 在无尽的梦境里 我一个人走在圆石铺成的狭窄街道上 在街灯的光晕下 我竖起衣领抵挡湿冷的天气 当闪烁的霓虹灯刺痛了双眼 光芒划破夜空，也触动了沉默之声 在没有灯罩的灯光下 我看到了数以万计或者更多的人们 人们聊天而不谈心 只用耳朵听而非用心聆听 人们写着毫无感情分享的歌 而且没有人敢去惊扰沉默之声 「愚蠢的人们啊！」我说：「你们不明白------」 「沉默像癌细胞一样蔓延 　仔细听听我能教你的 　握住我伸出的手。」 但我这些话像无声的雨落下 在沈默的井里发出回声------ 人们对着自己创造出来的霓虹神像膜拜祷告 告示上闪烁着警句 在逐渐显现的字句中，它说着： 「先知的箴言， 　写在地下铁的墙壁和廉价公寓的长廊里， 　并且在沉默之声中低回不已---------」

　1964年，Paul Simon和 Art Garfunkel两位好友组成二重唱，开始在纽约许多民歌餐厅表演，赢得佳评，并得到一纸唱片合约，经典名曲" The sound of silence 沉默之声 "在他们的首张专辑即已现身，但纯民谣风味的演绎并未受到太多注目，两人失望得想放弃踏入歌坛。
　还好当时有两位曾为民谣摇滚大师Bob Dylan巴布狄伦制作专辑的制作人慧眼相重这首歌，请来一批乐手为这首歌的编曲加料，推出新的版本，并被电影「毕业生」选为插曲，两年后，Paul Simon在英国听到这首歌在美国成为排行冠军的消息，简直不敢相信。
