街头英语乱象（十一）

        十一、说明书里的英语乱象

        说明书，顾名思义就是想说明一种东西，一种产品。而英语译文往往错误连篇，结果什么也说明不了。

        修正药业的“伤湿祛痛膏”的说明书上“生川乌”译成“Radix  Aconiti  from  Sichuanof  China”，应“Radix  Aconite  from  Sichuan  of  China”,冰片应为“borneol”；本品为黄绿色译成“The  product  is  yellowy  green”，应“The  product  is  yellow-green”。

        北京绿伞化学有限公司的“液体蜡”的用法说明：向干净的地面均匀喷一薄层，置十分钟左右，代蜡液基本晾干，用洁净的干拖布或干毛巾反复擦拭，抛亮为止。译文为：Spray onto floor，place  a  few  minutes.  Sweep  with  dry  mop  or  towel  repeatedly.应改为：Spray onto clean floor. After  ten  minutes or  so,  sweep the  floor with  dry  mop  or  towel  repeatedly.

        广州珠江化妆品公司出品的“小护士防晒露”的用法说明中有句：本产品含有角鲨油以及芦荟提取液。译文：The  product  is  made  of  quality  formula  with  aqualance  and  AIOE  Vera. 应改为：The  product  is  made  of  spiny  dogfish’s  oil and  aloe aqua.

        广州白云区某化妆品公司的用法说明中，有这样的英语翻译：The  active  ingredients  can  takes  good  care  of  your  hair  from  root  to  tip. 显然“takes ” 语法错误，应是：The  active  ingredients  can  take  good  care  of  your  hair  from  root  to  tip.另，后面的“proviide  the  essential  nutrients”有拼写错误，应 “provide  the  essential  nutrients”。

        深圳福尔富有限公司出品的一妇婴用品上说：质量优良，灵敏度高。译文为“Quality  and  sensitive”。前后词性不对称，应为“High quality  and  sensitivity”。

        温州百特电器有限公司出品的一种玩婴儿理发器上说明：百特专利设计，可旋转手柄，适合任意理发角度。译文：Paiter  patented  desgil  for  rotate  handle  cutting  with  any  position。宜改为：Paiter  patented  design  for  rotating  handle to cut  with  any  position。

        辽宁抚顺恒安纸业有限公司出品的“心心相印”手帕纸译成“Mind  Act  Upon  Mind”。按照这里的意思，也有语法错误。应为“Mind  Acts  upon  Mind”.最好译成“Hearts  and  Feelings  Find  a  perfect  Response”，或“Have  Mutual  Affinity”，或“Kindred  Spirits”。

        山东德美克制药有限公司出品的“泽它”煤焦油洗剂的用法说明：将适量（5-10毫升）本品倒在用温水淋湿的头发上，轻轻搓揉，并按摩片刻。译文：Massage a  liberal  quantity  of  lotion  into  the  scalp  and  rinse². 中文的适量外国人理解不了，建议译成：Massage 5-10 ml  of  lotion  into  the  scalp  and  rinse.

        济南盛世花城房地产的说明书上有这么一句话：“以建筑记载居住变迁，恰逢盛世”，所配译文是“Building  record  housing  vicissitude³，It  is  a  great  time.”语法错误很明显，可改为“Buildings  recording  housing  vicissitude，it  is  a  just flourshing  age.” 或者“Building  records  housing  vicissitude. It  is  just  a  great  heyday⁴.”

        山东荣城好当家海洋食品有限公司生产的鲅鱼水饺的说明书上，在配料一栏：鲅鱼，白菜，鸡蛋，酱油，花生油，食盐，鸡精，姜。译文为“Spanish mackerels,cabbage,egg, sauce, peanut oil, salt,chicken  bouill,gingeron”，其中“白菜”应译为“Chinese cabbage”。

        山东威海一家海产品出口企业，出口的明明是大对虾，包装盒上却写着”shrimps”（小虾，河虾）。你们怎么这么憨，自己贬自己？就该是“Prawn”吗？

        上海网球厂生产的“航空牌”网球译成了“Aeroplane”，即“飞机”，应该为“Aviation”。
安徽文化出版公司出版的《甜歌大全》，译为“the  sweet  song  is  entirely  big”,如果不是对“大全”二字心虚，应为“Completion  of  Sweet  Songs ”或应为“Complete  Works  of  Sweet  Songs ”或“A  Complete  Volume  On  Sweet  Songs ”。

        徐州人福缘“飞鹤”食品的包装袋上印有“Walnut  is  grown  in  Licheng  which  is  China  walnut’s  hometown  in  the  Taihang  mountain”，本想说“产自太行山脉——中国核桃之乡，黎城”。译文一语法硬伤，“which”应为“where”。还有“完美的搭配”译成“choiceness  raw  material”，不妨改为“choice  raw  material”。

        赵薇代言的福建达利集团“好吃点”的“水晶豆浆饼”译成“Irish Diamond  Soybean  Biscuit”，没有错误，但是“清爽绿豆饼”译成“Refreshing  mung  beanbiscuit”不妥，应分开“Refreshing  mung  bean  biscuit”。

        佳雪的“晒后修复乳”译成“Ice  smoothing   after-sun  lotion”，由于“lotion”是“洗液，饮料”的意思，建议改为“After-sun smoothing cream”。

        苹果系列童装的包装袋上一句广告词：“Apples  worldis  moreexciting  with  you”。别管它想说什么，至少应该把句子断开，且，名词一般不用复数做定语，即“Apple  world  is  more  exciting  with  you”。

        成都被称为“美食之都”，介绍成都的展示牌上的一句英语吸引了人们的眼球：“Making wonderful out of crdinary，this is the real essence of Chengdu cuisine”(译为：平淡中显妙处，化腐朽为神奇，这才是成都美食真正的精髓)。原来，按照英文介绍上方的中文介绍，此处应当是ordinary(平凡)，而宣传英语中却误将词首的“o”写成“c”。只是错了一个字母，“ordinary”(平凡)就凭空成了“crdinary”。

        山东日照东升化工有限公司的“黑猫粘鼠板”的英语说明几乎可以说是错误连篇。“无毒无公害”成了“No  poison  and  no  public  ham”，应为“No  poison  and  no  public  harm”。再有，“本粘鼠板将不受气候影响”，译成“The  No-Run  Bond  will  be  mot  be  affected  by  we  ather. ” 应改为“The  No-Run  Bond  will  be  not  be  affected  by  weather ” ; “它无毒无害无污染，是新一代天然产品”，译成“It  is  no  poison  and  no  harm,no  pollution  and  a  mew  generation  of  mataral  product.” 应改为“It  is  no  poison  and  no  harm,no  pollution  and  a  new  generation  of  natural  product”. “如果老鼠很多，可同时放多个粘鼠板”，译成“If  there a  relots  of  rats  a  few  bonds  can  be  used simulstancously.” 应改为“If  there  are lots  of  rats,  a  few  bonds  can  be  used simultaneously”;“远离日晒，不要沾水”，译成“Keep the  bond  aoay  from  sunshine  and  aroid  mixing  water.” 应改为“Keep the  bond  away  from  sunshine  and  avoid  mixing  water.”“如果衣服上弄上了粘液，请先用汽油清洗”，译成“If  clothes  are  stained  by  mucus   you  can  first  clean  it  with  diesel  oil” 应改为“If  clothes  are  stained  by  mucus,   you  can  first  clean  it  with  gasoline/petrol”

        济南“山青大世界”的简介里，也有不少翻译错误。如：“园内根据青少年实践活动的需要，设有快乐大本营”，被译成了“In  the  garden  practices  the  activity  based  on  the  youngster’s  to  need  to  beequipped  with  the  joyful  supreme  headquarters  area.”，改为“In  the  garden is equipped  with  the  joyful  supreme  headquarters  area  based  on  the need  of youngster’s    activity.”“各大功能区实现的教育目标各不相同，青少年参与的方式也不一样，由观赏到动手实践，再到挑战自我，最终达到塑造健康身心的目标”，译文为:“Various  great  merits  energy  region  realization  education  goal  is various,the youngster  participation  in  the  way  is  dissimilar, from  watching  to practicing  to  the challenging, finally  achieved  again  molds  the  healthy  body  and  mind”。 宜改为:“Various  functional  regions  have  various education  goals, and the  way the youngsters  participate are dissimilar-----from  watching  to practicing  to  the challenging, finally  achieve  the  goal  of molding   healthy  body  and  mind”。

        王守义孜然粉调料的包装袋上，关于驻马店市王守义十三香调味品集团有限公司翻译是这样的：ZhuMaDian  City Wang  ShouYi  Multi-flavored  Spice  Group Co.,Ltd. 大写部分错误，应改为：Zhumadian  City Wang  Shouyi  Multi-flavored  Spice  Group Co.,Ltd.

        有一种只标着“Made  in China”（ 疑为“三”无产品）的“Magnet  Dartboard”，出现了这样介绍词：The  total  score  of  the 3-times  throw  in  one  round  of  game  is  counted  as  follows. 显然，“3-times”应为“3-time”。

        日本生产的“AMD  processor”有英语说明，“Three  year  warranty”,意思是“保修三年”，“year”成了单数，应为“Three  years  warranty”。索尼公司与位于东京银座的索尼展示厅(Ginza Sony Showroom)的展示柜中展出了次世代主机PS3，但是人们在PS3的手柄上惊奇的发现了一个拼写错误。PS3手柄上的“SELECT”被错误的拼写为“SERECT”。 这款“Serect”展示用手柄将成为PS系列主机疯狂爱好者的终极收藏品之一。

         济南产的榨汁机，英语为“Juice  Press”，考虑到它实际上是水果榨汁机，译为“Juicer”或“Fruit  Juicer”更好；有的公司把Wine（葡萄酒）印成了Mine（水雷 ，矿物），把钟表店（Watchmaker’s Shop）印成了“媒人店”（Matc hmaker’s Shop），凡此种种，令人不知该哭该笑。
