ingrate 白眼狼

“白眼狼”，中文俗语，字面意思是“white-eyed wolf”，多用来形容忘恩负义、恩将仇报的人（a person who is not grateful），与英文单词“ingrate¹”意思相近。

 

狼以生性凶残冷血著称，而在群狼中尤以长着“吊白眼”的狼最凶狠，不通人性。故用“白眼狼”来比喻无论对他怎么好都一直是要害你的人。

 

例句：

 

我再也不跟这样的白眼狼做朋友了。

I will never make friends with such an ingrate again.

 

总统将他的副手们分为两派：忠诚的追随者和白眼狼们。

The president seems to divide aides into two groups: those loyal to their masters, and ingrates.
