科学家称在湄公河发现世界上最大淡水鱼

This is the world's largest freshwater fish ever documented.

The 300kg stingray was caught in Cambodia's Mekong river.

这条重达300公斤的黄貂鱼是在柬埔寨的湄公河中被捕获的。

 

The previous record-holder was a Mekong giant catfish¹ weighing 293kg, caught in Thailand in 2005.

此前的纪录保持者是一条重达293公斤的湄公河巨型鲶鱼，这条鱼是2005年在泰国被捕获的。

 

There is no official database for such a find.

目前没有记录世界上最大淡水鱼的官方数据库。

 

But scientists are excited by the discovery, saying it offers hope at a time when overfishing, dams and pollution are a threat.

但科学家们对这次湄公河中发现的巨大黄貂鱼兴奋不已，他们表示，当下，过度捕捞、筑坝和污染对河流生态环境构成了威胁，这个发现带来了希望。

 

The stingray was fitted with an acoustic² tag to track its future movements.

It was then released back into the river.
