LONDON (AFP) - Barcelona's Brazilian star Ronaldinho has been voted player of the year by FIFPro, the international professional football players' union.

Ronaldinho adds this honour to the 2004 FIFA World Player of the Year, which was decided¹ by a vote of national coaches. He helped Barcelona win the Spanish league title last season.

The team of the year included five players from European Champions League runners-up AC Milan (Dida, Cafu, Alessandro Nesta, Paolo Maldini, Andriy Shevchenko) but not one player from winners Liverpool.
