1. get into 〔be in〕 a mess **陷入困境，处于混乱状态

解 习语；词义溯源：处于［混乱状态（mess）］［中（in）］；参照get out of a mess

例 Watch your finances carefully while you're on this trip. I don't want you to find yourself

stuck somewhere in Europe with no money. I got into that mess when I was a university student. I

took a backpack tour of Asia. It was supposed to be for three weeks, but by the end of the second

week, I didn't even have enough money to get home.

2. get into full swing 〔high gear〕 **达到活动高潮；全力进行

例 The World Cup USA got into full swing this week when four games, involving eight of

the twenty-four teams, were played simultaneously¹ at four different stadiums.

5. get lost *迷路，迷失方向；走开，滚开

例 Just tell him to get lost if he comes around again. If he doesn't listen to you, call the police

and they'll arrest him for harassment⁵.
