WAREHOUSEMAN. A warehouseman is a person who receives goods and merchandise to be stored in his warehouse1 for hire.
2. He is bound to use ordinary care in preserving such goods and merchan-dise, and his neglect to do so will render him liable to the owner. Peake, R. 114; 1 Esp. WARRANDICE, Scotch4 law. A clause in a charter of heritable rights by which the grantor obliges himself, that the right conveyed shall be effectual to the receiver. It is either personal or real. A warranty5. Ersk. Pr. B. 2, t. 3, n. 11.
WARRANT, crim. law, Practice. A writ6 issued by a justice of the peace or other authorized7 officer, directed to a constable8 or other proper person, requiring him to arrest a person therein named, charged with committing some offence, and to bring him before that or some other justice of the peace.

4. A bench warrant is a process granted by a court authorizing12 a proper officer to apprehend13 and bring before it some on charged with some contempt, crime or misdemeanor. See Bench warrant.
5. A search warrant is a process issued by a competent court or officer authorizing an officer therein named or described, to examine a house or other place for the purpose of finding goods which it is alleged14 have been stolen. See Search warrant.
