　　The Second Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eighth National People's Congress decides： the Portuguese2 translation of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative3 Region of the People's Republic of China， examined and approved under the aegis4 of the Law Committee of the National People's Congress， shall be the official Portuguese text and shall be equally authentic5 as the Chinese text. In case there is any discrepancy6 in the meaning of wording between the Portuguese text and the Chinese text， the Chinese text shall prevail.
