中共中央政治局9月28日下午就我国考古最新发现及其意义为题举行第二十三次集体学习。中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平在主持学习时强调，要高度重视考古工作，更好认识源远流长、博大精深的中华文明。

President Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, has underlined the importance of developing archaeology¹ to better understand the long-standing and profound Chinese civilization. Xi made the remarks on September 28 while presiding over the 23th group study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on the latest archaeological discoveries in China and their significance.

 

考古发现展示了中华文明起源和发展的历史脉络，展示了中华文明的灿烂成就，展示了中华文明对世界文明的重大贡献。长期以来，中华文明同世界其他文明互通有无、交流借鉴，向世界贡献了深刻的思想体系、丰富的科技文化艺术成果、独特的制度创造，深刻影响了世界文明进程。

Archaeological findings reveal the origin and evolution of the Chinese civilization, its glorious achievements and great contributions to the world civilization. Through exchanges with other civilizations, the Chinese civilization has contributed to the world a profound system of thoughts, a wide range of technological², cultural and artistic³ achievements, and unique institutional creations, thereby⁴ deeply influencing the development of the world's civilizations.
