In June 2004, with the banking1 reform in China well under way, the Sate2 Council approved BOCOM’s general plan on deepening the reform of its shareholding3 structure in a bid to further develop BOCOM into a modern banking enterprise under a century old national brand with improved corporate4 governance, adequate capital, strict internal controls, safe operations, excellent services and return, and strong international competitiveness. Through the reform, BOCOM has completed financial reorganization, successfully introduced mainland and overseas strategic investors5 like HSBC, the national Social Security Fund and Central Huijin Company, and enhanced its organizational structure. On June 23, 2005, BOCOM was listed in Hong Kong, the first China based commercial bank of its kind to get listed outside of the Chinese mainland. After 18 years of development and intensive reform of its joint6 stock system, BOCOM has grown into a “well-established modern commercial bank operating under a century old national brand with its well-defined development strategy, perfected corporate governance, well developed banking network, advanced operation and management, and quality banking service and sound financial status”.
2004年6月,在中国金融改革深化的过程中,国务院批准了交通银行深化股份制改革的整体方案,其目标是要把交通银行办成一家公司治理结构完善,资本充足,内控严密,运营安全,服务和效益良好,具有较强国际竞争力和百年民族品牌的现代金融企业。在深化股份制改革中,交通银行完成了财务重组,成功引进了汇丰银行、社保基金、中央汇金公司等境内外战略投资者,并着力推进体制机制的良性转变。2005年6月23日,交通银行在香港成功上市,成为首家在境外上市的中国内地商业银行。目前,交通银行已经发展成为一家“发展战略明确、公司治理完善、机构网络健全、经营管理先进、金融服务优质、财务状况良好”的具有百年民族品牌的现代化商业银行
