Reporters covering the Games must register and obtain an official picture identification¹ pass to enter area of news coverage² during the event.

Reporters can download the media application form and accommodation form from the official Website http://www.2007specialolympics.com/index.php?id=80&lang=en and send them to the media and publicity³ department of the Games steering⁴ committee. The letter must also include the signature of the media's Editor-in-Chief and two color passport photos. More information is available on the Website.

Scheduled to run from October 2 to 11, the 2007 Special Olympics marks the first time the event will be held in Asia.

So far, nearly 11,000 athletes and coaches from 163 countries have already confirmed their participation⁵, the organizers said yesterday.

The Games will have 21 official events, four performing events and more than 10 non-sporting events, including the Host Town Program, the Family Forum and the Global Youth Summit
