Chong Quan, spocksman of MOFCOM, declared that China and Russia business summit¹ Would be held in Beijing on March 22, to be co-chaired by MOFCOM and Ministry² of Economic Development and Trade of Russia. More than 600 participates including senior officials, business circles and experts and scholars would attend the summit.

　　According to Chong Quan, the summit is the highest and largest activity in 2006, the “Year of Russia”, to which both governments attach great importance . Preparation is successful. It is a one-day summit with theme topic to be done in the morning and other four topics in the afternoon.

　　China and Russia are important trading partners to each other , China and Russia saw rapid growth in bilateral³ cooperation in recent years. In 2005, bilateral trade between the two counties has reached US$ 30 billion. The summit will help enhance the mutual understanding and further cooperation
