Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai attended the on-the-spot meeting of National "Ten Thousand Villages"
Marketing1 Project in Yangzhou from Feb. 28 to March 2, during the period, Minister Bo Xilai came to Zhenjiang, a city of Jiangsu Province, and Nanjing for
inspection2 and
investigation3 and held the
Symposium4 on commercial work with Jiangsu Province. Li Yuanchao, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu
Provincial5 Committee, and Liang Baohua, Governor of Jiangsu Province, took part in the inspection and symposium.
Mr. Bo Xilai and his party inspected Nanjing Economic & Technological6 Development Zone, Goldeast Paper, Suguo Supermarket Co.,Ltd, LG. Philips LCD, Suning Appliance Chain Store (Group) Co., Ltd. and Central Market. In the distribution center of Suguo Supermarket, Mr. Bo Xilai knew details about status of the Supermarket in development of modern logistics and network helping7 the business to spread rural market. He gave high affirmation to the successful experience of the Supermarket and said that we should earnestly summarize and promote the experience in line with the requirement of Premier8 Wen Jiabao and Vice9 Premier Wu Yi, should encourage circulation enterprises to exploit rural market and expedite construction of modern circulation system in countryside. When passing by the Suning Appliance Chain Store on the Western Road in Nanjing, Mr. Bo Xilai inquired the counter-measure to prevent fake commodities to enter into market and said that circulation enterprises should further enhance the awareness10 of IPR protection.
At the Symposium on Commercial Work held on March 2, persons in charge from departments of commerce like Jiangsu Provincial Trade Commission and Suzhou Industrial Park introduced the development of commercial work in Jiangsu. Some local enterprises put forward problems facing in the process of development. Principal of MOFCOM departments responded to issues of legislation of domestic trade, foster of brands, processing trade, export tax rebate11, overseas investment and labor12 service cooperation put forward by local governments and enterprises.
Mr. Bo Xilai said that the Ministry13 attached importance to the problems submitted by local areas and enterprises and would make efforts to provide better service to promote the development of local economy. He pointed14 out that the building of a new socialist15 countryside was a historical mission put forward by the Central Committee, and hoped that provinces and cities with advanced economy such as Jiangsu Province could take the construction of countryside circulation system into the consideration of infrastructure16 construction of countryside, strengthen investment and take full advantage of driving function of circulation industry to push forward development of countryside. He said that there was a batch17 of export-oriented enterprises in Jiangsu. While the enterprises completely utilized18 the advantage of low-cost labors19, they promoted enterprises to better perform social responsibility, steadily20 increase the income of employees and upgrade the level of social security, narrow income gap and enhance purchasing power of employees to drive up domestic consumption, bring a good social effect and promote the transformation21 of foreign trade growth mode.
