backbones3 for optical communication and German Next Generation Network; Huawei was in the purchasing list of Britain telecommunications and became strategic cooperative partner of Telefonica and Vodafone.

According to statistics of State IPR Office, Huawei was a company made most patent right applications, 90% belonged to invention patent rights. Patent right applications amounted to 3600 in 2005 and 10000 in total by December 31, 2005. Up to now, Huawei applied 3000 patent rights of 3G technology and had 5% of basic patent right of WCDMA, ranking fifth globally
