Love's Farewell

　　　　　　　Since there's no help, come let us kiss and part,—
　　　　　　　　Nay¹ I have done, you get no more of me;

　　注：该诗发表于1619年，采用中世纪寓言手法，将“爱”拟人化，描写了纯洁崇高的爱是不可能终止的，是无法告别的，即使爱已经濒临死亡，只要被爱者吐露一丝怜悯，垂死的爱便会重生。

　　迈克尔-德雷顿（1563–1631），诗人和剧作家，生于瓦立克郡，著有十四行诗、颂歌、田园诗、历史叙事诗和剧本等。
