去过北京各大旅游景点的人都知道那里的门票是按照旺季和淡季两个时间段定价的。但其实在旺季和淡季交替的时候，有那么一段时间，游客没有旺季那么多，却也不会像淡季时那么少，似乎将其归入哪个季都不是很合适，所以，我们就有了shoulder season（平季）这个说法。 Shoulder season refers to the time period in between peak/high season and low/off season. Tourism is at middle-of-the-road levels: less than the crowds during peak periods, but more than when visitation drops off during low/off season. In many destinations, spring and fall are considered shoulder seasons. Shoulder season（平季）指的是介于旺季和淡季之间的那段时间。在这个时期，旅游业一般处于中间状态：游客人数少于旺季，但又多余淡季。在很多景点，春秋两季一般被视为平季。 来看个例句： The shoulder seasons bring fewer tourists, lower accommodation prices, and surprisingly pleasant trips. 平季的时候游客少，食宿便宜，而且旅途会意想不到地愉快。
