Chinanews, Beijing, Mar1. 8 – This week, many colleges and universities have started their spring semester. Faced with a bullish stock market, many students plan to buy some stocks at this time, the Market News reported.
“All students in my class have bought some stocks. Two years ago when we were still undergraduates, there were only a few students who bought shares. But things have changed dramatically. We buy stock not only because of its now being a bullish market, but also because many classmates want to work in securities industry in future. So we definitely need some practical experience now,” a student who is studying for his master’s degree at the School of Finance and Economics at the Renmin University of China told this reporter. “We need to make our career plan even now when we are still studying for our master's degree, as many of my classmates hope to work in securities companies after graduation. So it is very important that we learn something now,” the student said. It is reported that many students who now study economics in famous colleges and universities have bought some shares. Most undergraduates are quick at learning new things. At present, the number of undergraduates who buy stocks accounts for 20% of the total number. As for postgraduates2, the proportion is even as high as 30%. Students majoring in finance and economics, in a whole class have become shareholders3 now, a student who studies at a school of economics told the reporter. As more students become shareholders, they will help raise the general quality of shareholders and there will be more rational stock buyers in securities market, which is actually a good thing, some industrial analysts4 said.
