Chinanews, Guangzhou, April 30 - Guangdong has seleceted several candidate sites for building new nuclear power stations. By 2020, all the nuclear power stations in Guangdong will be able to generate an output of 24 million kw.   Zhaoqing in Xijiang River Basin and Meizhou in Hanjiang River Basin are the two candidates for building new nuclear power stations.   Guangdong is planning to develop a complete nuclear industrial chain, and the building of new nuclear power stations is just the first step.   Actually, Guangdong has always been a pioneer in nuclear power development in China. There are currently 4 mega-kw nuclear power stations in operation the province, and several others are under construction.
