Chinanews, Beijing, May 8 - According to the green book on China's rural economy in 2007, the growth of agriculture will slow down to 4% this year, as there will be a new phase of agricultural growth slowdown.
The book was complied jointly1 by the Rural Development Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Department of Rural Social and Economic Survey of the National Bureau of Statistics. It says that after 3 years’ rapid development, China's agriculture might very probably cool down in 2007. The conclusion is based on the internal law of agricultural growth. Obviously, agriculture this year will contribute less to China's GDP growth than it did last year.
