Ivory Coast's disputed President Laurent Gbagbo has ordered the government to take control of all cocoa purchases and exports. 象牙海岸有争议的总统洛朗·巴博下令对所有可可豆的收购与出口实行严格控制。 ![]() Ivory Coast is the world’s biggest cocoa producer Alassane Ouattara, internationally recognised as president, earlier called for a temporary ban on exports to try to force Mr Gbagbo from power. Ivory Coast is the world's biggest cocoa producer. The country's industry accounts for 40% of global supplies and is currently dominated by multinational1 companies. The price of cocoa has been trading at its highest levels for a year, as supplies have been strangled(抑制) by recent sanctions(制裁,惩罚) and the near collapse2 of the banking3 system. The UN-backed electoral commission says Mr Ouattara won presidential elections in November, but the Constitutional Council overruled(否决,统治) it, citing rigging(索具,绳索) in the north. 点击 ![]()
