Chinanews, Beijing, Feb. 10 – Tens of overseas enterprises in China, including Siemens, SK Telecommunications and MTV, initiated¹ an activity to send their New Year's greetings to the Chinese people on February 7, 2007 in billboards², magazines and the Internet, the first time ever. The billboards with greetings will not be removed before March 5.

China International Relations Association will provide guidance to the overseas enterprises, and mass media coverage³ will be welcome.

Currently, many other overseas enterprises have expressed their desire to join the activity.

According to the data collected in September 2006, there were 580 thousand registered overseas enterprises in China, with a total capital of $665 billion. They have set up nearly 800 research and development centers and 40 regional headquarters. 480 of the Fortune-500 enterprises have set up their Chinese subsidiaries. Nowadays, overseas enterprises play an irreplaceable part in China's economy.
