The Liangzhu Archaeological Ruins, China's latest entry on the UNESCO World Heritage List, started accepting public visitors on Sunday.
良渚古城遗址,中国最大的世界文化遗产,周日起开始向游客开放。
Located on the river plain on the outskirts1 of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, the ancient city dates back to 3,300-2,300 B.C. It is "considered to be a supreme2 achievement of prehistoric3 rice-cultivating civilization of China and East Asia over 5,000 years ago and an outstanding example of early urban civilization," said a report by the International Council on Monuments and Sites.
Up to 3,000 visitors a day are able to visit the site by reservation via WeChat.
