China will work to uphold and improve the system for developing an ecological¹ civilization and promote the harmonious² coexistence between humans and nature, according to a decision of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

 

中共中央委员会的一份决议中指出，中国将致力于坚持和完善生态文明建设，促进人与自然的和谐发展。

 

The decision on some major issues concerning how to uphold and improve the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and advance the modernization³ of China's system and capacity for governance was adopted at the fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee on Oct. 31.

 

It stressed the tasks as the following:

 

-- implementing⁴ the strictest possible systems for ecological and environmental protection;

 

-- fully⁵ establishing a mechanism⁶ for highly efficient utilization⁷ of resources;

 

-- improving institutions concerning ecological restoration and conservation;

 

-- strengthening the accountability system for ecological and environmental protection.
