Chinanews, Beijing, April 2 - According to a report by the Legal Daily, Xinjiang bans profitable tours to unopened cultural ruins such as the Loulan Relic1 Site, and a fine as much as 100 thousand yuan will be imposed on organizers of such tours.
Loulan and the mummy of the famous "Loulan Beauty" have attracted many tourists; however, its fragile environment can not stand such "tourists tides" . "We can never afford to lose such a precious cultural heritages as Loulan," said a member of the standing2 committee of Xinjiang Regional People's Congress. On last March 27, Xinjiang Regional People's Congress passed a regulations concerning the protection of unopened relic sites. The new regulation also includes approval procedures for scientific investigation3 of such sites.
