Chinanews, Beijing, Sept. 14 - Lawrence Schiller, a famous photographer from U.S., will hold a photo show in China on Sept. 18 – 23 in Beijing World Art Museum. He revealed that 12 photos he took of Marilyn Monroe would be exhibited. “I enjoy these 12 photos very much,” he said.
In Schiller’s eyes, Monroe was a very smart woman, and she performed very well in her films. But it’s a pity, he said that people were reluctant to accept her when she was alive. The photographic show will be titled, “Marilyn Monroe and the US in the 1960s”. Schiller also thought America in the 1960s was in chaos1. The 64 news photos to be displayed in the exhibition will be include photos of ex-U.S. President Richard Nixon, human rights activist2 Martin Luther King, etc. He revealed that most of these photos had been used in journal covers. He also interviewed 37 Chinese artists and their relatives, and he said it’s the best way to help him understand Chinese culture.
