Chinanews, Shanghai, October 17 – Fudan University in Shanghai recently conducted a survey on the students’ attitude toward the recently awarded Nobel Prizes, finding that more than 91% of the students have paid close attention to them.   About 61% of the students said that they had acquired the information about the prizes via the Internet or newspapers, another 24% had the event one of the major chat topics among friends or with their teachers, the rest claimed that they had known the event from the university BBS.   When asked “What do you think about the fact that no Chinese mainlanders have ever been awarded the Nobel Prize,” 61% of the respondents believe the examination-oriented education system in the Chinese mainland should be blamed, as it harms creativity and restrains the personality of individuals.
