Chinanews, Shanghai, Dec. 31 -World Memory Championship is the most famous brainpower contest in the world, also known as the “brain Olympics”. Recently, China held its first National Memory Championship in Shanghai, to select candidates for the participation1 in 17th World Memory Championship.
More than 60 contestants2 from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hunan, Fujian and Hong Kong attended the championship, after having passed the online preliminary contest and a short training given them. There were 10 games in the championship, including remembering binary3 digits4, poem recitation, remembering random5 words, portraits and names remembering, card sorting, etc. Guo Chuanwei came out the champion with a total score of 5,805, and Liang Yiyin broke a world record by remembering the names of 186 portraits in 15 minutes, 5 more than the previous record.
