Microsoft's digital assistant Cortana will make her debut¹ on PCs, thanks to Windows 10.

Cortana, currently available on Windows Phones, appears in a new Windows 10 consumer build numbered 9901 which was leaked online recently.

The build shows Cortana on the taskbar responding to both text and voice commands.

Developed with Microsoft's machine-learning technologies, Cortana was designed to be smart and capable of improving her abilities through interactions with her user.

The leaked consumer build also features a new Xbox app, which appears to act as a gateway² to the entire Xbox ecosystem³, with access to achievements, friends lists and activity feeds.

Microsoft will detail the consumer features of Windows 10 at an event on January 21.

The official launch of Windows 10 is slated⁴ for early fall in 2015.
