Chinanews, Beijing, February 16 - It is said that Beijing will send some 100 ambulances to patrol the city on Lunar New Year's Eve to help those who are injured by fireworks or firecrackers, particularly the place near the Tiananmen Square, as many fireworks and firecrackers will be set off there.
Beijing emergency center and some other famous hospitals will assign experienced doctors to stand by on Lunar New Year's Eve. 2006 was the first year (since the early 1990s) for Beijing to lift the ban on fireworks and firecrackers, when hospitals had made detailed1 plans well before the arrival of the Spring Festival to treat patients injured by fireworks, but things turned still out somewhat out of control as there were too many patients. It can be estimated that 2007 will raise a very big challenge to the hospitals.
