Chinanews, Changsha, Mar1. 17 – Reporters from Malaysia News Agency, Times of India and Sydney Morning Herald2 will gather in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, and start their "dragon seeking tour" on Mar. 21. The "dragon" they looking for is in fact Chinese giant salamander.
The organizing committee of the "2007 Zhangjiajie International Forest Protection Festival" revealed this information. Organizers said that such festival aimed to make people focus their attention more on environmental protection and the importance of preserving forest resources. Such festival has been successfully held ten times since 1991. The last festival has been jointly3 held by Zhangjiajie local government and Hunan Forestry4 Bureau on "International Forestry Day" since 2006. The forthcoming festival will last in three days, and it will also invite Columbian ex-President, officials from Malaysia and ambassadors from Latin American nations. They will also hold meetings to discuss how to preserve forests in Zhangjiajie.
