Chinanews, Hangzhou, Feb.3 – According to a survey in Zhejiang Province, watching TV takes up most of the leisure time of the farmers, and they hope more movies will be brought to their doorsteps.
69% of farmers watch TV for a total of 2 hours every day. Reading and watching Chinese opera are also their favorite entertainments.
Interestingly, farmers with higher incomes also read more than those earn less. In a village with the average annual income of 8,000 yuan per capita, more than 54% of the villagers often read books and newspapers, while the figure in a village with the average annual income of only 4,000 yuan per capita is some 35%
Young farmers want more knowledge than older generations to cope with the challenge of the information era. Computer has become an irreplaceable part of their lives, through which they get information and do business with clients from all over the world.
