China's e-commerce giant Alibaba can help empower small businesses in India, executive chairman Jack1 Ma told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their meeting on Monday (March 30, 2015) in New Delhi.
中国电商巨头阿里巴巴董事长马云3月30日在新德里会见印度总理纳伦德拉·莫迪时表示,阿里巴巴可以帮助振兴印度的小型企业。
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Jack Ma "Jack meets Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss how Alibaba can help empower small businesses in India," Alibaba Group tweeted following the meeting, without further elaborating.
Modi also tweeted, "Had a very good meeting with Jack Ma." Modi reportedly is keen to use the Internet to boost India's economy, according to the Indian media.
This was Ma's second trip to India in four months. During his last visit in November, he said Alibaba would "invest more in India, and work with Indian entrepreneurs and technology companies".
Ma has also noted2 that one of Alibaba's key strategies in the next three to five years is to globalize and help small businesses around the globe.
In February, Alibaba's financial affiliate3, Ant Financial, acquired a 25-percent stake in India's One97 Communications.
One97 Communications' flagship brand Paytm is India's leading mobile payment platform.
