On Thursday, China Railway Corporation started tests of self-driving trains on a section of the Beijing-Shenyang high-speed railway, marking a major breakthrough by China in autonomous¹ train technology.

中国铁路总公司周四在北京-沈阳一条高铁线路上测试了自动驾驶列车，标志着中国自动列车技术的重大突破。

According to staff at China Railway Corporation, data from the tests will allow engineers to fine tune² the development of automated³ driving activities including automatic stopping, starting, and running between stations.

The current series of tests will run until late September.
