A joint¹ performance was held by artists from China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Pyongyang on Saturday.

Visiting Chinese artists joined hands with their DPRK peers, presenting songs and dances that are popular among the people of both countries, along with other kinds of performances.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), watched the performance.

After which, Kim took the stage, shook hands with the main actors and spoke² highly of their excellent performance.

Ahead of the performance, the top DPRK leader had previously³ met with the principal members of a Chinese delegation⁴ of literary and art workers which started visiting DPRK on Friday.

Kim, who highly praises the healthy and stable development of the relations between the DPRK and China, noted⁵ that the Chinese delegation's visit will greatly promote mutual⁶ exchanges between the two countries in the field of culture and arts, enhance the friendly feelings of the two peoples, and consolidate⁷ the traditional friendship between the two countries.
