Hiro flailed¹ his arms and grabbed onto the end of a metal pipe. Holding the pipe, Hiro fought against being pulled into the vortex of the portal. He watched his team below, and saw they were being beaten badly.

Yokai laughed as the microbots grabbed Fred's arms and pulled.

"They're tearing me apart!" Fred howled.

Then Yokai turned to Wasabi. He had him pinned between two walls of microbots. "Getting a little tight!" Wasabi said as the walls closed in.

Go Go was immobilized in a ball of microbots. "I could use a little help!" she called.

Everyone seemed to be in a jam, even Honey. She had covered herself in a chemical dome², but the microbots were hammering on it.

Hiro was suddenly frightened. He could see them losing the battle. They could all be sucked into the portal. As he hung upside down, he watched pieces of debris³ and loose microbots fall into the gaping⁴ maw. "That's it! I know how to beat him!"

He yelled into his communicator, "Hey! Listen up! Use those big brains to think your way out! There are no dead ends!"

It was just the jolt⁵ of inspiration the team needed.

Fred grabbed a fallen sign. Spinning the sign, he sliced through the microbots that were holding his Kaiju suit. "Oh, it's Fred time!" he howled. "And we don't need a super suit for the super signspin!"

At the same time, Go Go revved⁶ her wheels until they smoked—and sliced through the sphere of microbots around her.

Held between two walls of bots, Wasabi knew the best way to escape was to go down. Using his laser hands, he dug through the floor and was free. Honey latched⁷ on to a string of microbots that had penetrated⁸ her dome. They pulled her to freedom.

But the robot was still surrounded. "Baymax!" Hiro called. He gasped⁹ as a sharp piece of debris flew past and cut him.

Baymax looked up, and the two stared at one another before Baymax was completely covered with microbots. Hiro gasped, and then he felt his hands slip on the pipe.

Suddenly, Baymax's rocket fist shot out of a mound¹⁰ of microbots.

The rest of Baymax caught up to his fist and he grabbed Hiro just as the pipe gave way. Krei and Callaghan could only watch. "I love that robot!" Krei shouted.

With a snarl¹¹, Callaghan used the microbots to trap Krei against a billboard¹². Hiro rode Baymax down to the ground, where the team was ready and waiting for action.

"Here's the plan," Hiro told them as he looked toward Callaghan. "We gotta force him up. Close to the portal. Honey, Fred, can you give us a little cover?"

"Let's do this, Freddie!" Honey shouted.

"Like you have to ask," Fred said as he blew a blast of smoke from his Kaiju nostrils¹³. "Smoke screen!"

"Yes!" Hiro cheered as the two disappeared in the cloud of smoke. "All right, Wasabi, here's what I want you to do—"

"I'm good, man!" Wasabi interrupted. "I don't need a plan. Wasabi is winging it." Wasabi ran in and slashed¹⁴ away at the columns of microbots. Go Go sent discs flying at the columns as well, causing large cracks to appear. Honey threw chem-balls into the cracks. The expanding goo caused the columns to shift.

Hiro smiled. They were finally working together as a team.

Baymax and Hiro flew toward Callaghan, drawing an attack of swirling¹⁵ microbots toward the portal. At the last second, they reversed into a dive, going straight into the microbots, which engulfed¹⁶ them.

Hiro activated¹⁷ Baymax. "Back kick! Knife hand! Roundhouse! Hammer fist!" he called out in quick succession. Baymax went at the microbots with a whirlwind of karate¹⁸ moves.

"This ends now!" Callaghan shouted. With one final push, he threw a swarm¹⁹ of microbots at Hiro and Baymax. But with a mighty²⁰ blow, Baymax punched thousands of microbots into the portal.

The columns shook and Callaghan staggered. With very few microbots left, he struggled to maintain his balance. "No!"

"It's over, Callaghan!" Hiro shouted. "Hand over the mask."

"Never," Callaghan snarled²¹.

"I thought you'd say that," Hiro said. "Fred?"

Fred leaped at Callaghan. "Fred time!" he called as he grabbed the mask. Instantly, the microbot columns collapsed²², sending Krei and Callaghan tumbling toward the ground.

Baymax caught the two men in midair.

Hiro watched the columns of microbots holding the portal come apart. With a great shudder²³, the whole thing crashed to the ground!

Hiro and his friends cheered. The portal had been destroyed and the microbots were lying in heaps!

But seconds later, it was clear that the broken portal was still active. "It's still on!" Hiro said to Krei. "We have to shut it down!"

The portal was sucking in everything around it. Then, pulsing with light, it began sucking in parts of itself.

"We can't!" Krei cried. "The containment²⁴ field is failing. The portal's going to tear itself apart."

"We need to get out of here, now!" Hiro shouted. Everyone was turning to run when Hiro looked back and saw Baymax staring at the portal. "Baymax!" he shouted.

"My detector²⁵ is sensing signs of life," Baymax said.

"What?" Hiro said.

"Coming from there," Baymax replied, pointing at the portal. "The life signs are female. She appears to be in hyper-sleep."

Hiro gasped. "Callaghan's daughter!" he said. "She's still alive?"

"Abigail!" Callaghan said. Hiro saw the hope in Callaghan's eyes. Then he looked to his team. He knew if there was a chance she was alive, he had to try to save her. He looked at Baymax. "Let's go get her." He climbed onto the robot's back.

Krei stood next to the team on the ground. He said, "The portal is destabilizing. You don't have much time."

Honey was worried. "Hiro, it's too dangerous."

"She's alive in there," Hiro told his team. "Someone has to help."

The team looked at each other and then back at Hiro and Baymax. They understood that Hiro would always be the person who would offer help. Just as Tadashi had been. "What do you say, buddy²⁶?" Hiro asked Baymax with a smile.

"Flying makes me a better health-care companion."

And with that, the team watched Baymax and Hiro rocket into the portal.

妖怪转向了芥末无疆，把他压在两面由微型机器人构成的墙壁之间。“越来越紧了！”随着墙面之间的距离越来越近了，芥末无疆说道。

神行御姐被固定在了由微型机器人构成的球内动弹不得。“我需要些帮助！”她喊道。

每个人似乎都陷入了困境，哈妮柠檬也是。她把自己包裹在了用化学球制成的圆顶屋里，忍受着微型机器人不断的攻击。

小宏突然变得很害怕。他可以看到他们在战斗中处于下风。他们都有可能被吸进传送门。他被倒挂着的时候，眼看着很多残骸的碎片和零散的微型机器人被吸入传送门那张大口。“我想到了！我知道如何打败他了！”

他对着他的通信器大喊道“嘿！听着！开动你们无敌的大脑，想想摆脱困境的方法！没有过不去的火焰山！”

这正是振奋整个团队所需要的。

弗雷德捡起一块掉落的牌子,旋转着它，把紧紧抓住他怪兽盔甲的微型机器人切得粉碎。“哦，到了弗雷德时刻了！”他大喊道，“急速旋转可不需要穿超级盔甲！”

与此同时，神行御姐加快了她飞轮的转速，直至它们开始冒烟，把包裹着她的由微型机器人构成的球体切割开来。

被两面机器人墙夹着的芥末无疆知道，最好的逃脱方向就是下面。他用自己的激光刀在地板上挖了个洞，随即他就摆脱了困境。哈妮柠檬抓住一束刺穿她圆顶小屋的微型机器人。它们将她拽了出来，她自由了。

可是大白还是被微型机器人包裹着。小宏喊道：“大白！”。一片尖利的残骸飞过切伤了他，他倒吸了口气。

在微型机器人把他完全包裹起来之前，大白抬起头与小宏对视着。小宏吸了口气，随即他感觉到自己的手正在从钢筋管上滑落下来。

突然，大白的火箭拳从一大堆微型机器人中飞了出来。

大白追上了他的拳头，在小宏的手滑落钢筋管的瞬间抓住了他。格利和卡拉汉只能眼睁睁地看着。“我爱死那个机器人了！”格利放声喊道。

卡拉汉咆哮着，用微型机器人把格利打向了一面广告牌。小宏骑着大白回到了地面。其他队员也在那里，准备开始行动。

“我有个新计划，”小宏一边告诉他们，一边看向卡拉汉。“我们得强迫他向上接近传送门。哈妮柠檬、弗雷德，你们能掩护我们吗？”

“一起上吧，弗雷德！”哈妮柠檬大喊道。

“这还用说吗，”弗雷德边说边从怪兽盔甲的鼻孔处喷出一阵浓烟。“烟幕弹！”

“太好了！”小宏看着那两人消失在浓烟中欢呼道，“好了，芥末无疆，现在我想让你去……”

“我没问题，伙计！”芥末无疆打断道，“我不需要计划。芥末无疆要即兴表演了。”芥末无疆跑了进来，朝着微型机器人组成的柱子削去。神行御姐也朝着微型机器人组成的柱子投掷着飞盘，导致柱子出现了巨大的裂痕。哈妮柠檬朝着裂痕处扔出了化学球。扩展的黏性物导致微型机器人柱子移动了。

小宏笑了。他们终于开始团体作战了。

大白和小宏朝着卡拉汉飞了过去，吸引盘绕的微型机器人朝传送门的方向攻击。在最后时刻，他们颠倒过来急速下降，直击包围着他们的微型机器人。

小宏激活了大白。“后踢！手刀！回旋踢！锤拳！”他一个接一个地指挥着。大白对着微型机器人如旋风般地演绎着空手道。

“到此为止吧！”卡拉汉大喊道。随着最后的一推，他向小宏和大白扔出一堆微型机器人。但大白猛力一击，将数以千计的微型机器人打进了传送门。

柱子摇晃起来，卡拉汉的脚步也开始不稳。微型机器人的数量越来越少，他努力维持着平衡。“不！”

“结束了，卡拉汉！”小宏喊道，“把面具给我。”

“休想！”卡拉汉咆哮道。

“我猜你会这样说，”小宏说道，“弗雷德？”

弗雷德跳向卡拉汉。“弗雷德时间！”他一边喊一边抓住面具。微型机器人组成的柱子立即就坍塌了，格利和卡拉汉摔向了地面。

大白在半空中接住了他们两人。

小宏看到举着传送门的微型机器人柱子开始瓦解了。随着一阵震颤，整个传送门砸向了地面！

小宏和他的朋友们欢呼起来。传送门被毁了，而微型机器人散落成堆！

可是几秒钟后，他们发现，残破的传送门还在运转着。“它还在运转！”小宏对格利说道，“我们得关掉它！”

传送门把它附近的东西都吸了进去。随着传送门的灯一闪一亮，它开始吸入本身的部件。

“我们关不了！”格利哭喊道。“磁力控制场快要失灵了。传送门会自己分解的。”

“我们需要赶快离开这里！”小宏大喊道。所有人都转身而逃，就在这时，小宏回头看了看大白，只见大白正盯着传送门。“大白！”他喊道。

“我的探测装置探测到了生命迹象。”大白说道。

“什么？”小宏说道。

“从那边过来的，”大白指向传送门答道，“生命迹象显示是名女性，她正处于休眠状态。”

小宏吸了口气。“卡拉汉的女儿！”他说道，“她还活着？”

“艾比盖尔！”卡拉汉说道。小宏看到了卡拉汉眼中的希冀。然后他看向了他的团队。他知道如果她尚有一线生机，他就应该去救她。他看向大白：“咱们去救她。”他爬上了大白的背。

格利挨着其他队员站在那里。他说道：“传送门越来越不稳定。你没有多少时间。”

哈妮柠檬很担心：“小宏，这太危险了。”

“她就在那儿，还活着，”小宏对他的队员们说道，“得有人去救她。”

队员们对视了一眼，然后注视着小宏和大白。他们都知道小宏是那个永远愿意帮助他人的人，就像泰迪那样。“你怎么看，伙计？”小宏笑着问大白道。

“会飞使我成为一名更好的健康顾问。”

说完，小队的其他成员便看着大白和小宏火箭般地冲进了传送门。
