Chinese Minister of Commerce met with Asadullo Gulomov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, in Beijing on March 29, and exchanged views on issue of bilateral1 trade and economic relations between China and Tajikistan.

  Mr. Bo Xilai said that the good-neighborly and friendly relations and trade and economic cooperation between China and Tajikistan developed steadily2 in recent years. In 2004, Chinese President Hu Jintao announced to provide US$900 million concessional loan to members of SCO, which indicated the sincere wishes and pragmatic practice to cooperate with SCO members, and was also the efforts made by China for promotion3 of economic cooperation among the members. China stressed to develop trade and economic relations with Tajikistan and the two countries were strongly complementary to each other economically and could launch mutual4 benefit cooperation in various areas.

  Mr. Bo Xilai said that it is in accordance with the common interest of the two countries to attach importance to Sino-Tajikistan trade and economic cooperation. Tajikistan improved its investment environment and policies step by step. Successful investment in Tajikistan by Chinese enterprises would attract more enterprises to invest and push forward the sustainable development of bilateral trade and economic relations. China was willing to maintain providing support to training in Tajikistan.

  Gulomov thanked Chinese government for the great support to the economic construction of Tajikistan. He Said that Tajikistan highly appraised5 and cherished the friendly relations and trade and economic cooperation with China. In recent years, Sino-Tajikistan trade and economic relations developed with a high speed and step forward to a new stage gradually, therefore, the future cooperation will be pleasing. Now, Tajikistan drew up relative laws to protect foreign investment and was improving investment environment and policies. It was expected that more Chinese enterprises could invest in industry, agriculture, hydropower station, transportation and energy sources in Tajikistan, on the other hand, Tajikistan was willing to provide convenience and create conditions for Chinese enterprises in investment
