China Customs Statistics indicated that total imports and exports of hi-tech products in Jan. 2006 amounted to US$34.52 billion, up by 32.4% compared with the same period of the previous year. And exports were US$17.61 billion, imports were US$16.91 billion, up by 33.4% and 31.4% respectively, making a good start in the new year. Main features and tendency were the following:
1, Exports of major hi-tech products increased with a high speed. Exports of mobile phones and accessories reached US$2.9 billion, up by 68.3% and accounting1 for 16.5% of total exports of hi-tech products; of IC products were US$1.29 billion, up by 43% and 10% higher than the growth rate of national hi-tech products exports. Mobile phones and IC products were main products driving up hi-tech products exports. 2, Exports of computers maintained increase in both volume and price. In Jan. 2006, total 9693 sets of computers with parts were exported and value reached US$5.77 billion, up by 8.9% and 16% respectively, accounting for 32.8% of total exports of hi-tech products. And export price of computer products went up by 6.5%. 3, The good start in Jan. laid a foundation for realization2 of annual target. Positive factors favorable for expansion of imports and exports of hi-tech products were still strong: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council attached much importance to expand exports of hi-tech products with proprietary intellectual property and proprietary brand; China further enhanced the implementation of strategy of Revitalizing Trade Through Science and Technology and further optimized the policy environment; Requirement of international market for hi-tech products maintained booming; Foreign investment expedited to enter into hi-tech area 点击收听单词发音
