妥善安置四川汶川大地震灾区1400多万被转移的受灾群众，是中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席胡锦涛高度关注的问题。继3天前赴浙江省湖州市考察救灾帐篷生产情况后，胡锦涛又于25日来到河北省廊坊市，实地考察救灾过渡安置房生产情况。

    China's top leader, Hu Jintao, visited two factories that had received orders for 19,500 pre-fab houses, urging them to produce as many as possible to meet the needs of the quake survivors¹.

    国家主席胡锦涛参观了两家承担19500套活动房生产任务的工厂，要求他们抓紧生产进度以满足受灾群众的需求。

    During his stay, Hu was shown around so that he could learn about these temporary dwellings². He thanked the factory workers on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, while highlighting the importance of manufacturing housing for survivors.

    考察期间，胡锦涛参观了这些过渡安置房的生产过程。他代表中共中央和国务院对工人们表示感谢，同时强调了这些安置房生产任务的重要性。

    上述报道中，pre-fab house是“活动房”，完整的形式是pre-fabricated house，在安置受灾群众的时候，这些活动房都被称为“过渡安置房”，即temporary dwellings。这段时间，受灾群众住的地方除了tent（帐篷）以外，还有makeshift shelters（简易过渡房）。
