6月9日首班车起，北京地铁全线正式启用自动售检票系统(AFC)，彻底告别沿用38年的纸质地铁票。 6月9日启用的自动售检票系统的地铁线路包括1号线、2号线、13号线、八通线、5号线等所有在运营线路。即将于7月上旬通车的10号线、8号线(奥运支线)、机场线也会在开通试运营之日起同步启用自动售检票系统。

    随着自动售检票系统的启用，乘客现在可以通过各入口处的自动售票机购买电子票。

    上述报道中，Automatic Fare Collection system就是“自动售检票系统”，简称AFC。vending machine指的是a slot machine for selling goods（自动售货机），在这里指“自动售票机”。我们生活中很常用的ATM则是Automatic Teller² Machine（自动柜员机）的缩写。
