10月5日，近五千名徒步方队受阅官兵在出色完成国庆大典阅兵任务后，悄无声息地离开了沙河阅兵村。据悉，装备方队也通过各种交通方式陆续踏上了归途。所有受阅部队将于10月10日回撤完毕。

为尽量减少部队机动给首都交通和市民出行带来影响，阅兵官兵都把回撤时间安排在深夜和清晨。

Ground forces that participated in the massive military parade on the 60th founding anniversary of New China started Monday to leave their drill camps on the outskirts¹ of Beijing.

The ground troops consisting of more than 10,000 service men from the three armed forces -- army, navy and air force, were scheduled to depart their camps before October 10, according to the commanding center that orchestrated the national day military parade.

报道中的drill camp指的是“阅兵村”，即参加国庆六十周年阅兵大典的军队进行为期五个月的训练的地方。Drill有“训练”、“操练”、“军事训练”之意，如drill soldiers day and night（日夜练兵）；drill pupils in grammar（经反复训练使学生完全掌握语法）。
