学生掀起暑期高校游

Tens of thousands of students from all over China are swamping¹ leading universities in the capital city during the summer vacation, some in organized groups for a summer camp and some accompanied by their parents, with travel costs differing depending on the situation.

来自全国各地的数万名学生在暑期涌入北京名校参观游览，有些参加了有组织的夏令营，有些由家长陪同前往，费用不等。

文中的summer pilgrimage就是指“暑期高校游”，top/leading universities也就是指著名高校。Pilgrimage原意是指“朝圣”，可以翻译为“参拜之行；瞻仰之旅”，“去朝圣”可以用go on/make a pilgrimage表示。Pilgrimage一词在这里写出了学生对于名校的崇拜和敬仰之情。
