China has fixed¹ December 4 as national Constitution Day. Chinese officials must pledge allegiance to the Constitution in public before they take office.

 

我国日前将12月4日确立为宪法日，国家工作人员正式就职时公开向宪法宣誓。

 

宪法日即Constitution Day，宪法宣誓即pledge allegiance to the Constitution，或take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution。该项制度的建立将有助于确立宪法的权威性（bolster² the authority of the Constitution），鼓励官员遵守和保护宪法（encourage officials to abide³ by and protect the Constitution）,增强公民的宪法意识（inspire the public to raise their Constitutional awareness⁴）。
