The APEC organization has a tiered structure: Informal Leaders' Meetings, Ministerial Meetings, Senior Officials' Meetings, Committee & Working Group Meetings, and Secretariat.

Established in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is a forum¹ that seeks to promote free trade and economic cooperation throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

亚太经合组织(the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation，简称APEC)诞生于1989年，致力于推动亚太地区的投资自由化和经济合作。

 

APEC currently has 21 members, including most with a coastline on the Pacific Ocean. Members account for approximately 40 percent of the world's population, 54 percent of the world gross domestic product, and about 44 percent of world trade.

APEC目前有21个成员，大部分成员地处太平洋沿岸。APEC成员拥有世界上40%的人口、54%的全球GDP和44%的全球贸易。

 

APEC carries out work in three main areas: trade and investment liberalization, business facilitation, and economic and technical cooperation.

One tradition of the forum is the APEC leaders' family photo. At the end of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, leaders in attendance gather for a photo while dressed in a costume that reflects the culture of the host member.
