A Chinese documentary on how Germany and Japan reflected on their wartime atrocities¹ has been translated into eight languages, and is available on major news portals. The Chinese version of the 90-minute, four-episode documentary, "Truth and Denial: Germany and Japan's Postwar Redemption", was first aired on China Central Television in early June. 

中国纪录片《光明与阴霾-德日二战反思录》被译成8个语种，可在各大新闻门户网站观看。这部纪录片共4集，时长90分钟，主要表现了德日两国对其战争暴行的反思。中文纪录片于6月初在中央电视台首播。

 

“二战反思”可以用postwar redemption表示，postwar表示战后的，尤指第二次世界大战以后的，如战后世界体系（postwar global order），战后安全政策（postwar security policy），战后和平（postwar peace）；Redemption表示救赎，赎回，如不可救药（beyond / past redemption）。“反思”还可以用reflect on表示，如反思战争暴行（reflect on wartime atrocities）。

 

该纪录片由中国社科院近代史研究所出品，纪录片对比了德日两国对二战的反思，德国通过实际努力赢得了尊重，而日本却因为否认战争罪行（deny its war crimes）而激怒亚洲邻国（irked its Asian neighbors）。专家表示，多语种纪录片（multilingual version）能够让全世界人民正视历史。
