Chinese President Xi Jinping called for promoting innovation-driven development by grasping opportunities in the Internet era while visiting an expo themed "Light of the Internet." 

国家主席习近平在视察“网络之光”博览会时呼吁，要用好互联网带来的机遇，推动“创新驱动发展战略”。

 

习近平指出，互联网是20世纪最伟大的发明之一（one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century），给人们的生产生活（people's work and life）带来巨大变化（huge changes），对很多领域的创新发展起到很强带动作用（promoting innovation and development）。

 

互联网发展给各行各业创新带来历史机遇。要充分发挥企业利用互联网转变发展方式（transforming model of development）的积极性，支持和鼓励企业开展技术创新（innovations in technology）、服务创新、商业模式（business model）创新，进行创业探索。鼓励企业更好服务社会，服务人民。要用好互联网带来的重大机遇（important opportunities），深入实施创新驱动发展战略。
