  八、rent (n. ) 土地、建筑物、房舍、机器等定期的租费。如:
  1、The company has to pay a heavy rent for the land if it is located the shopping center of the town.

  如果该公司位于城镇的商业区,就得缴付昂贵的土地租金。

  2、The student owed three months’rent for my house.

  那学生欠我三个月的房租。

  九、tip (n.) 通常指对一次性劳务所付的小费。如:

  3、The local government levied2 all kinds of tolls3 on every dealer4.当地政府向每个小贩征收各种捐税。

  十一、tuition (n.) 指学生上大学或私立学校所交纳的学费。如:

  1、The university raised tuition by 4% last year.

  去年这所大学的学费上涨了4%。

  2、John took out a loan to pay his tuition.

  约翰贷款交付学费。

  3、He began to study accounting5 at night sessions of the City University of New York, earning his tuition during the daytime.

  他开始晚间在纽约城市大学学习会计,白天做工赚学费。
