China on Wednesday launched a website for live broadcasts of court trials to allow the public to supervise proceedings¹.

 

中国于周三推出法院庭审直播网站，以便公众监督庭审过程。

 

Live broadcasts of court trials（庭审直播）被视为中国全面推进司法公开（judicial² openness）的重要举措。全国各级人民法院均可通过该平台直播庭审（to air trials），该平台还会发布直播预告（notices ahead of broadcasts），并提供之前庭审直播的视频片段（video clips of previous trials）。

 

中国法院网有关负责人表示，庭审直播能够让广大民众更好地实现对法院审理案件过程的知情权、参与权和监督权（the public's rights to know, to participate and to supervise），同时也能够更有力地规范法官在庭审中的一言一行（to better regulate court practices），从而达到通过司法公开促进司法公正（to enhance judicial justice through judicial openness）的目的。
